Care and maintenance.

Wood is an incredibly durable material and, if treated with care, it will stand the test of time.

We finish our pieces with Rubio Monocoat oil, a natural oil, which is designed to protect timber from damage while gently enhancing the material’s natural character.

This hard-wearing finish will help to protect the wood from dirt, gentle abrasion and liquid spillages, while allowing the timber to breathe. However, it is advisable to use coasters, and wipe any spills quickly with a dry cloth.

When cleaning your wooden pieces, avoid using chemical products. We would recommend using warm water or Rubio Surface Spray.

To keep the wood looking its very best, we recommend applying a fresh coat of oil twice a year.

If damage occurs, one of the beauties of solid wood is that it can be sanded back to reveal a fresh surface. For advice on this process, feel free to reach out to us.

We exclusively use furniture-grade timber, which is kiln-dried to an optimal moisture level to minimise movement. That being said, timber is a natural material and will expand or contract over time, depending on its surroundings. To prevent movement or warping, avoid placing timber furniture in direct sunlight or near radiators for extended periods.
