Enki chair - Ebonised oak
The Enki chair features a playful leaf-shaped backrest, joined to the seat with a tusk-tenon, a traditional joint rarely used in chair-making.
The gently-angled legs are shaped by hand, creating a subtly-irregular, faceted surface, and joined to the seat with wedged tenons. The seat is is sculpted with gentle curves to support the body’s contours.
The piece is crafted from British oak and ebonised with an oxidising vinegar solution, causing the tannins in the wood to darken and resulting in a highly-durable finish.
